Strap Test

This test ensures that the fixing to the head, via the helmet's retention system, is strong and secure.

• The helmet is mounted onto a specialist rig (see picture, right) and the strap is attached. Weights, as specified by the test, are dropped to assess the retention system.

The test is passed if the strap (which can be seen more clearly in the picture below) remains intact and does not exceed the maximum deflection limit (as specified by the test).
