Other Tests

Other, more minor tests that can be conducted, include:

• Chin-Bar Test - Examines the strength of integral chin-bars, where appropriate
• Face Shield Penetration Test - A .22 pellet is fired at high velocity (at 500km/h or 311mph) at the helmet visor. This ensures that the face shield is not susceptible to penetration by small sharp objects at high velocity.
• Removeability Test - Checks that the helmet can be removed quickly in emergency situations
