Flammability TestThis test, which is specific to the Snell SA-2000 standard, verifies that the helmet does not contain flammable materials, thereby increasing the risk of burn injuries. |

Each key component of the helmet (i.e. shell, visor, strap and internal padding) is tested by subjecting it to a flame temperature of up to a maximum of 830 degrees celsius, for a time period specified by the Snell Standard. |

The test is passed if any flames are extinguished within a time period (again, specified by the Snell Standard) after the flame is removed. |
